Overnight ratings for the race portion of The Preakness Stakes were reportedly the lowest in over a decade.
The race portion of The Preakness Stakes earned a 6.0 overnight rating on NBC Saturday evening, down 6% from last year (6.4), and down 24% from 2009 (7.9).
According to multiple reports, this marks the lowest overnight for the Preakness since 2000.
The 6% decline for the Preakness comes on the heels of a 7% drop for the Kentucky Derby (9.7).
This is the first time since 2008 that overnight ratings have declined for the first two Triple Crown races.
