The first college football game of the season on ESPN was not much of a television draw on Thursday night.
Thursday’s UNLV/#11 Wisconsin college football game earned 1.937 million viewers on ESPN, down 23% from last year (USM/SC: 2.510M), and down 41% from 2009 (SC/NCST: 3.263M).
The game earned a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49, down 36% from last year’s game (1.1).
The numbers not only paled in comparison to last year, but to other events on cable as well. A rerun of the MTV reality series Jersey Shore drew 4.424 million viewers at 10 PM, with a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49.
