FOX earned unusually strong numbers for last week’s NFL singleheader window.
The Week 4 NFL singleheader, featuring Lions/Cowboys in 35% of markets, earned a 14.0 final rating and 23.308 million viewers on FOX last Sunday — up 32% in ratings and viewership from last year (BAL/PIT*: 10.6, 17.606M, CBS), and up 39% and 41%, respectively, from 2009 (BAL/NE*: 10.1, 16.558M, CBS).
According to FOX, the telecast ranks as the highest rated NFL singleheader since 1998 (tie) and the most-viewed since 1995. It was not immediately clear whether that includes telecasts on CBS.
The singleheader window was the highest rated and most-viewed of Week 4, topping both the national window on CBS (GB/DEN*: 13.6, 23.014M) and Sunday Night Football on NBC (BAL/NYJ: 11.5, 18.900M).
Through Week 4, FOX averaged a 12.5 rating and 20.4 million viewers for NFL coverage (six telecast windows), up 4% in ratings and viewership from the same point last year (11.7, 19.7M).
