Despite featuring the same teams as last year, the Sunday’s Eagles/Giants Sunday Night Football game slumped to a double-digit decline in overnight ratings.
The Week 11 Sunday Night Football game, pitting the 3-6 Eagles against the Giants, earned a 14.0 overnight rating on NBC — down 12% from the same matchup in Week 11 last year (NYG/PHI: 15.9), but up 17% from Week 11 in 2009 (PHI/CHI: 12.1).
This marks the first time since that disastrous Colts/Saints game in Week 7 (8.2, down 49%) that any Sunday Night Football game has had a decline in overnights compared to last year.
Of the twelve NFL telecasts on NBC this season, Sunday’s is tied as the sixth-lowest rated in the metered markets.
Philadelphia (29.7) led all markets, followed by Norfolk, VA (21.2), New Orleans (19.7), New York (19.2) and Las Vegas (18.8).
