NFL Network opened its limited NFL slate on an uptick last week.
The Week 10 Raiders/Chargers Thursday Night Football game drew a 3.3 U.S. rating and 5.277 million viewers last week, up 6% in ratings and 5% in viewership from Week 10 last year (BAL/ATL: 3.1, 5.008M), and up 38% and 35%, respectively, from 2009 (CHI/SF: 2.4, 3.899M).
The game ranks as the highest rated and most-viewed NFL Network season opener since the network began airing NFL games in 2006, topping the previous record set by last year’s Ravens/Falcons game.
Unsurprisingly, the game also ranks as easily the lowest rated and least-viewed NFL telecast of the season. The previous lows were 6.1 and 9.275 million for Ravens/Jaguars on ESPN October 24, a game that aired opposite the World Series.
