Despite the withdrawal of Tiger Woods in the final round, ratings and viewership increased by double-digits for coverage of the Cadillac Championship.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour WGC-Cadillac Championship drew a 2.8 final rating and 4.139 million viewers on NBC March 11, up 22% in ratings and 25% in viewership from last year (2.3, 3.316M), and up 47% and 45%, respectively, from 2010 (1.9, 2.859M).
This marks the highest rated and most-viewed final round of the tournament in three years (2009: 3.4, 4.865M).
The WGC-Cadillac Championship was the sixth straight PGA Tour tournament on broadcast to have a double-digit increase in ratings and viewership for final round coverage.
Third round action on March 10 drew a 2.0 final rating and 2.768 million viewers, up 43% in ratings and 37% in viewership from last year (1.4, 2.025M), and up 54% and 57%, respectively, from 2010 (1.3, 1.779M).
Overall, nine of the first thirteen PGA Tour telecasts on broadcast this season (excludes the third round of the Northern Trust Open) have had double-digit increases in ratings and viewership compared to last year.
