The final game between the Devils and Rangers hit a series-high in viewership, but still trailed last year’s Bruins/Lightning series.
Game 6 of the Rangers/Devils NHL Eastern Conference final drew 1.605 million viewers on NBC Sports Network Friday night, down 5% from Bruins/Lightning Game 6 on a Wednesday night last year (1.681M). There was no comparable game in 2010.
The game ranks as the most-viewed of the conference final round.
Overall, seven of the eleven conference final games on NBCSN and the NBC broadcast network were down from last year. All five Devils/Rangers games on NBCSN suffered declines.
Amazingly, Friday’s game drew a higher rating among adults 18-49 (0.6) than reruns of ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ and ‘Grimm’ on NBC (0.5 each).
