Former SportsCenter anchor Josh Elliott will be a prominent figure on ESPN over the next 48 hours thanks to his exclusive interview with former Penn State president Graham Spanier.
A televised interview of Spanier conducted by Elliott will air across a wide variety of Disney platforms Wednesday and Thursday.
In particular, portions of the interview will air on the late afternoon editions of “SportsCenter” on ESPN and ESPNEWS and ABC programs “World News with Diane Sawyer,” “Nightline,” “Good Morning America,” and “Good Afternoon America.”
Elliott currently serves as the newsreader for Good Morning America and as a co-host for Good Afternoon America. Previously, he anchored the 9:00 AM-Noon ET edition of SportsCenter.
According to an ABC News release, Spanier — who left Penn State in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal — will discuss “his version of the events,” including “what he knew and when he knew it.”
ABC seems to have a great deal of confidence in Elliott. Beyond the high-profile Spanier interview, Elliott has also anchored editions of World News when Sawyer was not available.
