The numbers would have been stronger if not for weather delays, but Tiger Woods‘ victory at the Farmers Insurance Open was still a strong draw on CBS.
Third and final round coverage of the Farmers Insurance Open drew a 3.2 final rating on CBS last Sunday, up 78% from final round coverage last year (1.8), but down 9% from the final round in 2011 (3.5).
The 3.2 rating is the second-highest for any round of the Farmers Insurance Open (previously the Buick Invitational) since final round coverage in 2008 (4.2), Woods’ most recent victory at the event before this year.
Due to weather delays, the conclusion of the tournament was pushed back to Monday afternoon. CBS earned a 1.7 final rating for Monday’s coverage, which was pre-empted in several markets.
Despite the cancellation of play, CBS earned a 1.1 final rating for coverage on Saturday — up a tick from last year (1.0) and down 45% from 2011 (2.0).
