The NFL has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2013 season, with Peyton Manning and the Broncos figuring prominently in the year’s biggest match-ups. Click here to jump straight to the schedule.
The 2013 NFL regular season will begin September 5, with the Broncos hosting the defending champion Ravens in the annual Kickoff Game on NBC. The Ravens are opening on the road due to a conflict with an Orioles home game.
The Kickoff Game is only one of several high-profile match-ups to involve the Broncos this season. Peyton Manning and company will also take on the Giants in the “Manning Bowl” in Week 2 (9/15 on CBS), the Cowboys in Dallas in Week 5 (10/6 on CBS), the Colts in Manning’s return to Indianapolis in Week 7 (10/20 on NBC), and the Patriots and Tom Brady in Week 12 (11/24 on NBC).
All in all, the Broncos will play either in primetime or in the NFL national window in nine of the first twelve weeks of the season.
Other high-profile games during the 2013 season include Giants/Cowboys in the season-debut of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” (9/8), the burgeoning 49ers/Seahawks rivalry on “SNF” the following week (9/15), Steelers/Ravens on NBC Thanksgiving night (11/28), Packers/Cowboys on FOX in Week 15 (12/15), and a Patriots/Ravens AFC title game rematch in Week 16 (12/22).
The first “Monday Night Football” games of the season will be Eagles/Washington and Texans/Chargers in ESPN’s now-traditional Week 1 doubleheader (9/9), and the first “Thursday Night Football” game will be Jets/Patriots on NFL Network (9/12).
