ESPN Layoffs Target “Hundreds” of Staffers
- Deadspin reported Tuesday that ESPN will lay off “hundreds” of its 7,000 employees today. ESPN confirmed the layoffs to multiple outlets, but did not announce a specific number. The layoffs are the first for ESPN since 2009. (Deadspin)
NFL Draft Could Move to May
- The NFL and NFL Players’ Association are working on an agreement that would move the NFL Draft to May for the next three years, ESPN.com reported Monday. According to NFL.com, however, the date change would be a “one-year trial” necessitated by a scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall. Las Vegas Bowl to Air on ABC
- The 2013 Las Vegas Bowl will air on ABC this year, marking the first time since 2001 that the game has aired on broadcast television. The game is scheduled for Saturday, December 21 at 3:30 PM ET.
