Kellerman to Co-Host “SportsNation”
- Former “Around the Horn” host Max Kellerman has been named the new co-host of ESPN2’s “SportsNation” talk show, replacing Charissa Thompson. Kellerman, who left ESPN in 2004 to host the short-lived program “I, Max” on Fox Sports Net, will make his debut on Monday. Despite the addition of “SportsNation” duties, Kellerman will continue to serve in his current roles on HBO boxing coverage. (ESPN Media Zone)
Heat’s Battier to Interview Draftees on ESPN
- Miami Heat SF Shane Battier will serve as a guest reporter for ESPN’s coverage of the 2013 NBA Draft on Thursday. Battier will interview top draft picks after they have been selected, replacing Mark Jones in that role. (ESPN Media Zone)
Strong to Replace White on NBC’s MLS Coverage
- Portland Timbers play-by-play voice John Strong is leaving the team to serve as the new lead voice of Major League Soccer coverage on NBC. Strong, who has worked MLS coverage on NBC in the past, replaces EPL-bound Arlo White. Strong’s debut as the lead voice will be the July 6 Whitecaps/Sounders match.
