Confederations Cup Up Big on Univision
- Through Sunday, the Confederations Cup averaged 1.4 million viewers across the Univision family of networks — up 145% from coverage of the 2009 event. Univision scored 2.1 million viewers for Saturday’s Japan/Mexico match and 1.4 million for Nigeria/Spain on Sunday. (Univision)
Double-Digit Increases For Travelers Championship
- Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Travelers Championship drew a 2.0 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 11% from last year (1.8), and up 25% from 2011 (1.6). On Saturday, third round action drew a 1.5 overnight — up 15% from last year (1.3), and even with 2010. (Sports Business Daily)
IndyCar Ties ABC Season-Low
- Sunday’s IndyCar Series Iowa Corn Indy 250 earned a 0.7 overnight rating on ABC, tied as the network’s lowest IndyCar overnight of the season. The 0.7 is down a tick from the last time ABC aired the Iowa race, in 2009 (0.8). In addition, the 0.7 is tied as the second-lowest for any IndyCar race on ABC over the past five years.
