The Kansas City Royals set yet another ratings record on Fox Sports Kansas City Monday night. In other news, the Padres also hit a new record, while the return of Alex Rodriguez boosted the Yankees to a season-high on YES Network.
Yet Another Ratings Record For Red Hot Royals
- For the second straight night — and the third time in four games — the Kansas City Royals set a local ratings record on Fox Sports Kansas City. The Royals’ 13-0 blowout win over the Twins earned a 10.2 rating on FSKC Monday night, the network’s highest Royals rating ever. The previous record was a 9.7 for Royals/Mets on Sunday, and the record before that was a 9.1 for Royals/Mets on Friday. So far this season, Royals games are averaging a 6.1 rating on FSKC, up 56% from last year. (Nielsen)
Padres Set New Record, Too
- Fox Sports San Diego earned a 5.2 rating for Sunday’s Yankees/Padres game, the network’s highest Padres rating in two years televising games. Padres ratings on FSSD have increased 44% over last year. (Nielsen)
Rodriguez Return Raises Ratings
- Monday’s Yankees/White Sox game drew a 4.34 rating on YES Network in the New York market, the network’s highest Yankees rating of the season. The previous high was a 4.16 for Yankees/Mets in May. The game marked the season debut of Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez on the same day he was suspended 211 games for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal. (yesnetwork.com)
