NBC has added a pair of big names for its Olympic figure skating coverage. In other news, Turner Sports newcomer Grant Hill will make his TNT debut on Tuesday, and ESPN NBA analyst Doris Burke has agreed to an extension with the network.
Weir, Lipinski, Join NBC
- Former figure skaters Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinksi have joined NBC Sports as analysts for the network’s Winter Olympics coverage, the network announced Wednesday. Weir and Lipinski will make their NBC debut on Sunday’s ISU Grand Prix Skate Canada event. NBC has also added former skater Tanith Belbin as a reporter for Olympic coverage. Hill to Make TNT Debut on Opening Night
- New Turner Sports NBA analyst Grant Hill will make his TNT debut during Tuesday’s Opening Night studio coverage. Hill will work alongside Steve Smith, Chris Webber and Matt Winer in Turner’s Atlanta studios while the regular studio team — Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal — is on the road in New York. ESPN, Burke, Agree to Extension
- ESPN NBA analyst Doris Burke has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the network, it was announced Thursday. Burke, who will join the “NBA Countdown” studio show on Wednesdays this season, will also continue to work college football games on the network. (ESPN Media Zone)
