The Red Sox’ championship-clinching victory in Game 6 of the World Series was the top draw of the postseason, with an 11.3 rating and 19.2 million viewers. The game had the third-largest audience for any baseball game since 2009, and the third-largest for any non-Yankee game since 2007.
Game 4 of the World Series, which had a lead-in from the NFL, ranked second for the postseason (9.4, 16.0M). The 11 most-viewed playoff games involved the Red Sox, though that can be primarily attributed to the team playing two of three series on broadcast TV (FOX).
The top draw of the playoffs on cable was Game 5 of the Pirates/Cardinals NLDS, which earned a 3.9 and 6.1 million viewers on TBS. Ranking second was the clinching Game 6 of the Dodgers/Cardinals NLCS, which drew a 3.7 and 6.1 million.
On the other end of the spectrum, the least-viewed game of the postseason was Pirates/Cardinals Game 2 on MLB Network (0.6, 832K). Both MLB Network games drew fewer than one million viewers.
