Two rivalry games featuring sub-.500 teams went in opposite directions on NBC last week.
The Week 13 Steelers/Ravens NFL regular season game drew an 11.0 final rating and 21.1 million viewers on NBC Thanksgiving night, up 9% in ratings and 10% in viewership from Jets/Patriots on Thanksgiving last year (10.1, 19.2M), and up 108% and 97%, respectively, from 49ers/Ravens on NFL Network in 2011 (5.3, 10.7M).
Keep in mind the previous Thanksgiving games took place in Week 12, not Week 13.
Steelers/Ravens ranks eighth out of the fifteen NFL telecasts on NBC this season — smack dab in the middle.
Meanwhile, the Giants/Washington “Sunday Night Football” game drew a 10.8 and 17.7 million viewers — down 13% in ratings and viewership from Eagles/Cowboys last year (12.4, 20.4M), and down 6% in both measures from Lions/Saints in 2011 (11.5, 18.9M).
Giants/Washington earned the fourth-lowest rating and viewership of the season on NBC.
Among adults 18-49, Steelers/Ravens drew a 6.9 rating (-3% from last year) and Giants/Washington earned a 6.2 (-18%).
