On a huge Wild Card weekend, no game was as massive a draw as 49ers/Packers on FOX.
The 49ers/Packers NFC Wild Card game drew a 25.8 final rating and 47.1 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 20% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Seahawks/Washington last year (21.5, 38.1M), and up 8% and 11%, respectively, from Steelers/Broncos on CBS in 2011 (24.0, 42.4M).
49ers/Packers ranks as the most-viewed NFL Wild Card or Divisional Round playoff game on record. The previous high was 45.3 million for the Giants/Packers Divisional Round game last year.
The 25.8 rating is also the highest on record for an NFL Wild Card game.
Overall, Sunday’s game earned the largest audience for any sporting event since last year’s Super Bowl. Excluding the Super Bowl, only one program in 2013 drew a larger audience — the Ravens/Patriots AFC Championship Game (47.7M).
The game also stands as the seventh-most viewed non-Super Bowl program in the history of the FOX network, trailing only six NFC Championship Game telecasts.
Locally, Milwaukee scored a 58.0 rating and the Bay Area turned in a 40.0.
