CBSSN’s Scott Could Join “NFL Today”
- CBS Sports president Sean McManus said Tuesday that the network will add a second new analyst to “The NFL Today” pregame show in order to fill the vacancies left by the departing Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe. CBS has already added Tony Gonzalez. According to the New York Daily News, CBS Sports Network analyst Bart Scott is the “leading candidate.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, NYDN)
Bestwick Will Stay With ESPN
- Though ESPN is out of the NASCAR business after this year, the network’s lead NASCAR voice Allen Bestwick will remain with the network. Under a new multi-year deal with ESPN, Bestwick will serve as the lead lap-by-lap voice for ABC’s IndyCar coverage and will work several college sporting events — including college football — for ESPN and the SEC Network. Olbermann Out With Shingles
- ESPN host Keith Olbermann has been absent from his eponymous ESPN2 show the last couple of nights due to a battle with shingles. There was no immediate word on when he is expected to return. (The Big Lead)
