After stumbling on Tuesday, overnight ratings for the Winter Olympics perked back up somewhat on Wednesday night.
Primetime coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympics drew a 13.3 overnight rating on NBC Wednesday night, up 11% from Tuesday’s coverage (12.0), but down 9% from Monday night (14.6). The 13.3 is the sixth-lowest primetime overnight of the Olympics (14 telecasts)
Overnights for the comparable telecasts in 2010 and 2006 were not available. The comparable night of the most recent Olympics — London in 2012 — had a an 18.6 overnight.
Denver led all markets Wednesday night, with a 20.4 rating. Salt Lake City (19.1) and Minneapolis (18.6) ranked second and third, with Kansas City (17.5) and Ft. Myers, FL (16.6) rounding out the top five.
Over on NBCSN, live coverage of the Olympics had a 0.9 overnight — up 138% from the comparable day in 2012.
