NBC’s NFL ratings continue to hover around last year’s levels.
The Week 3 Steelers/Panthers Sunday Night Football game drew an 11.8 final rating and 19.8 million viewers on NBC, down 3% in ratings and 4% in viewership from Bears/Steelers last year (12.2, 20.5M) and down 9% and 8%, respectively, from Patriots/Ravens in 2012 (12.9, 21.3M).
Sunday’s telecast ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed SNF game in Week 3 of the season since Jets/Dolphins in 2010 (11.3, 18.1M).
NBC has alternated between increases and declines so far this season, though each telecast has been within single-digit percentage points of last year. According to competitor CBS, NBC is averaging 21.8 million viewers for NFL games this season — which would mark a 6% decline from last year (23.1M).
Among adults 18-49, Steelers/Panthers had a 7.8 rating — up a tick from last year (7.7) but down 10% from 2012 (8.7).
Pittsburgh was the top market for the game with a 38.9 rating, followed by Charlotte (31.1), Greensboro (22.7), Greenville (20.0) and Raleigh (17.2).
