Overnight ratings soared for a second straight Thursday Night Football blowout.
The Week 4 Giants/Washington Thursday Night Football game drew an 11.2 overnight rating on CBS and NFL Network, up 87% from 49ers/Rams on NFL Network and local affiliates last year (6.0). The 11.2 is the second-highest ever for Thursday Night Football (dates back to 2006), trailing only Steelers/Ravens in Week 2 (13.7).
The Giants won Thursday’s game by 31 points, the second straight week TNF has featured a rout. The Falcons’ 42-point win over the Buccaneers a week earlier had a much lower overnight (8.5).
Locally, the game had a 23.9 rating in Washington and a 14.1 in New York.
