NBC attracted solid numbers for Notre Dame’s close win against rival Stanford.
The Stanford/Notre Dame college football game drew a 2.7 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, up 8% from Arizona State/Notre Dame in primetime last year (2.5) but down 31% from Stanford/Notre Dame in 2012 (3.9). Last year’s Notre Dame/Stanford game aired on FOX and drew a 2.2 overnight.
Notre Dame’s win tied the weekend’s second-highest college football overnight on any network, matching Texas A&M/Mississippi State on ESPN. Head-to-head, the game trailed Alabama/Mississppi on CBS (3.9) but topped ABC’s regional action (2.3) and Oklahoma/TCU on FOX (1.4).
The game was also NBC’s first of the season to have an increase in overnights over last year.
