The final games of the American League Division Series had increases in overnight ratings on TBS.
Game 3 of the Angels/Royals ALDS drew a 2.8 overnight rating on TBS Sunday night, up 12% from Dodgers/Braves Game 3 last year (2.5). The game managed an increase despite a stronger performance for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which was up 10% in the overnights.
The 2.8 overnight is the second-highest of the Division Series, trailing only Game 1 of the same series on Thursday (3.2). Including the Wild Card games, the 2.8 ranks as the fourth-highest of the playoffs (12 telecasts).
The Royals have played in three of the four highest rated postseason games in the metered markets.
Earlier in the day, Orioles/Tigers Game 3 drew a 2.2 overnight, up a tick from last year’s Cardinals/Pirates game (2.1).
