Though the numbers were massive as always, the NFL national window earned one of its smallest audiences of the season last week.
The Week 10 NFL national window, featuring Giants/Seahawks in 86% of markets, drew a 13.5 final rating and 22.7 million viewers on FOX last Sunday — down 5% in ratings and 6% in viewership from coverage on CBS featuring Broncos/Chargers last year (14.3, 24.1M) and down 8% and 7%, respectively, from coverage on FOX featuring Cowboys/Eagles in 2012 (14.7, 24.3M).
The telecast ranks as the season’s lowest rated and least-viewed NFL national window on FOX (five telecasts). The previous four each topped a 15.0 rating and 25 million viewers. Including CBS telecasts, the numbers were the third-lowest of the season, ahead of only Week 5 (11.5, 19.7M) and Week 8 (12.2, 20.7M).
Despite the lower numbers, the national window was easily the top NFL telecast of the week.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring 49ers/Saints in 64% of markets drew an 8.2 and 13.4 million — up 3% in ratings and 6% in viewership from last year on CBS (8.0, 12.7M).
