Though the featured game was a laugher, FOX attracted strong numbers for Sunday’s NFL national window.
The Week 11 NFL national window, featuring Eagles/Packers in 84% of markets, drew a 17.1 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 2% from coverage featuring 49ers/Saints last year (16.7) and up 16% from coverage on CBS featuring Colts/Patriots in 2012 (14.8).
The 17.1 is the fifth-highest of the season for any NFL telecast window. Four of the season’s five highest rated games in the metered markets have aired on FOX.
Keep in mind the Packers beat the Eagles by 33 points and at one point led by 40. The game was such a rout that FOX eventually switched much of the audience to Lions/Cardinals.
In other action Sunday, regional coverage featuring Seahawks/Chiefs in 49% of markets drew aw 10.1 overnight — down 4% from coverage featuring Washington/Eagles last year (10.5) and down 10% from coverage on CBS in 2012 (11.2).
