The GoDaddy Bowl earned its smallest audience in seven years.
The Toledo/Arkansas State GoDaddy Bowl drew 1.4 million viewers on ESPN Sunday night, down 20% from Arkansas State/Ball State in 2012 (1.7M) and down 30% from Arkansas State/Kent State in 2012 (1.9M). Ratings were not immediately available.
The Rockets’ win ranks as the least-watched GoDaddy Bowl since 2008, when Tulsa/Bowling Green drew 1.3 million. The game has failed to crack the two million mark in four consecutive seasons.
The GoDaddy Bowl ranks as the third-least watched game of the bowl season, ahead of only a pair of newcomers — the Bowling Green/South Alabama Camellia Bowl (1.1M) and the BYU/Memphis Miami Beach Bowl (1.3M).
