NBCSN earned fewer viewers for its second IndyCar race of the season. In other news, the FA Cup was not much of a draw on FOX, and the WNBA Draft hit a three-year viewership low.
Fewer Viewers For NBCSN’s Second IndyCar Race
- NBCSN earned a 0.3 final rating and 344,000 viewers for IndyCar Series racing from Long Beach last Sunday, flat in ratings and down 14% in viewership from the network’s second race last season (0.3, 400K) but up a tick and 36%, respectively, from its second race in 2013 (0.2, 253K). Alabama was the second race in both years. Compared to last year’s Long Beach race, which took place a week earlier in the season, ratings were flat and viewership declined 7% from 368,000. Small Audience For FA Cup on FOX
- The Reading/Arsenal FA Cup semifinal drew a 0.3 final rating and 456,000 viewers on the FOX broadcast network last Saturday, well below the network’s two FA Cup telecasts last year, both of which earned a 0.6 and north of 750,000 viewers. The match was trounced head-to-head by the Chelsea/Manchester United English Premier League match on NBC (0.7, 1.0M). (via Sports Business Daily)
WNBA Draft Hits Three-Year Low
- The 2015 WNBA Draft drew 278,000 viewers on ESPN2 April 16, down a third from last year (413K), down 27% from 2013 (379K) and the least-watched edition of the event since 2012 (189K). Keep in mind 2012 was the last WNBA Draft to take place on a weekday afternoon. (via Awful Announcing)
