Despite zero NBA competition, NBCSN had mixed results for Thursday’s NHL playoff action.
Game 4 of the Blackhawks/Wild Stanley Cup playoff series drew 1.7 million viewers on NBCSN Thursday night, up 148% from Ducks/Kings Game 3 opposite the NFL Draft last year (670K) and up 67% from Sharks/Kings Game 5 in 2013 (995K).
The Blackhawks’ series-clinching victory was the least-watched game of the series, but the fourth-most watched of the playoffs on cable.
Earlier in the night, Canadiens/Lightning Game 4 drew 751,000 viewers — down 50% from Bruins/Canadiens opposite the NFL Draft last year (1.5M) and down 57% from Blackhawks/Red Wings in 2013 (1.8M).
