With Masters champion Jordan Spieth losing by one stroke, overnights rose for the PGA at Colonial.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Colonial Invitational earned a 2.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 47% from last year (1.5), up 29% from 2013 (1.7), and tied with 2006 as the highest overnight since 2005 (2.3).
The Colonial was just the latest PGA Tour event to hit a multi-year high for final round coverage. The Heritage Classic earned its best final round overnight since 2004, the Quail Hollow Championship tied its best mark since 2010, and the Houston Open hit a four-year high.
Eight of the last 11 PGA Tour telecasts (including The Masters and WGC Match Play) have had an increase in final round overnights, and seven of those have increased by double-digits.
Third round action on Saturday drew a 1.3 overnight — up 44% from last year (0.9) and up 18% from 2013 (1.1).
