The FOX broadcast network will air two United States Women’s World Cup matches in primetime. In other news, the Mountain West football championship is moving from CBS to ESPN2 and Fusion will begin airing a TV simulcast of The Dan le Batard Show starting Monday.
Women’s World Cup: USA Group Play Matches (June 12 and 16, 8 PM ET, FOX)
- The United States’ Women’s World Cup group play matches against Sweden (June 12) and Nigeria (June 16) will air on the FOX broadcast network in primetime, Fox Sports disclosed in a Wednesday press release. The June 16 match could face competition from Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The first USA match of the World Cup, June 8 against Australia, will air on Fox Sports 1. (Fox Sports)
CFB: Mountain West Championship (December 5, 7:30 PM ET, ESPN2)
- ESPN announced Friday that it has acquired rights to the Mountain West Conference football championship game effective this season. The game aired on CBS the past two years. Under the arrangement, which runs through the end of ESPN’s MWC TV deal in 2019, the championship game will air on ESPN or ESPN2 each year. This year’s game is slated for December 5 at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN2. (ESPN Media Zone)
The Dan le Batard Show with Stugotz (Monday, 4 PM ET, Fusion)
- Fusion, the joint venture of Univision and ABC News, will begin airing a television simulcast of Dan le Batard‘s ESPN Radio show The Dan le Batard Show with Stugotz Monday at 4 PM ET. The show will run from 4-7 PM ET each weekday. Fusion originally announced that it would carry the show back in February. (Fusion)
