The College World Series final had another big drop in viewership Tuesday.
Game 2 of the Virginia/Vanderbilt College World Series final drew 1.3 million viewers on ESPN Tuesday night, down 26% from the same match-up last year (1.8M) but up 1% from UCLA/Mississippi State in 2013 (1.33M to 1.32M).
The Cavaliers’ series-tying win ranks as the second-least watched Game 2 of the CWS final since at least 2008, ahead of only UCLA/Mississippi State. Overall, the first two games of the series rank among the four-least watched over that span.
As was the case with Game 1, Tuesday’s viewership trailed the comparable game of the Women’s CWS final earlier in the month. Game 2 of the Florida/Michigan series had 1.9 million viewers. Unlike Game 1, which aired opposite a USA Women’s World Cup match, there was no notable head-to-head competition.
