MLB on FOX eked out its third viewership increase in four weeks.
Regional Major League Baseball action on FOX drew a 1.4 final rating and 2.2 million viewers on FOX Saturday night, flat in ratings and up 1% in viewership (2.23M to 2.21M) from the network’s fourth primetime window last year, and down 13% and 8%, respectively, from the fourth such window in 2013 (1.6, 2.4M).
The slight bump in viewership marked the third time in four telecasts this season that FOX has had an increase in one or both measures. The only telecast to have a decline thus far was rain-affected coverage two weeks earlier, which was down just a tick in ratings and 1% in viewership.
With that said, the numbers do not fare as favorably compared to two years ago. Three of the four telecasts have declined from 2013.
For the fourth straight week, MLB on FOX faced head-to-head competition from the Stanley Cup Playoffs (3.0, 5.3M). The NHL won all four head-to-head meetings with MLB this season, and dating back to 2013 has won 11 straight in viewership.
