Entering its fourth season of college football coverage, Fox Sports is making a few changes to its game and studio broadcast teams.
Fox Sports announced Tuesday that Joel Klatt will replace Charles Davis as its lead college football game analyst. Klatt, who split time between games and the studio last year, will work alongside the returning Gus Johnson. The moves were first reported by Sports Illustrated Monday.
Johnson and Klatt will make their debut on the September 3 Michigan/Utah game on Fox Sports 1.
Davis is moving to the NFL on FOX. In an interview with SI.com, he indicated that he will be replacing the suspended Donovan McNabb. The new role is a marked shift for Davis, who had been the lead college football analyst on FOX since 2012 and from 2007-10.
Matt Leinhart will replace Klatt in the studio, working alongside the returning Rob Stone and Dave Wannstedt.
