FOX will become the first broadcast network to air two hours of NFL pregame coverage each week.
Sports Business Journal reported Monday that the Fox Sports 1 pregame show NFL Kickoff will move to the FOX broadcast network this season, creating a two-hour block of pregame coverage from 11 AM-1 PM ET. Outside of special occasions, no broadcast network had previously exceeded 75 minutes for pregame coverage.
This is not the first time that FOX has led the way in expanding NFL pregame coverage. It was the first broadcast network to offer an hour-long pregame show when Fox NFL Sunday launched in 1994.
NFL Kickoff will continue to feature a separate cast from Fox NFL Sunday, though personalities from the latter show will make increased appearances. The show featured Joel Klatt, Randy Moss, Dave Wannstedt and Donovan McNabb last year.
