The Premier League has continued its hot start to the season.
Sunday’s Everton/Manchester City English Premier League match earned 661,000 viewers on NBCSN, up 58% from Arsenal/Leicester City last year (418K), up 15% from Arsenal/Tottenham in 2013 (574K), and the top EPL telecast of the weekend.
The match was just one of several to see year-over-year gains, continuing a trend that began with the opening weekend three weeks ago. West Brom/Chelsea drew 505,000 on USA Network earlier in the day, up 17% from Liverpool/Tottenham last year (433K) but down 11% from Liverpool/Manchester United in 2013 (570K), both on NBCSN.
Shifting to Saturday’s action, the early morning Manchester United/Newcastle match scored 573,000 on NBCSN — up 106% from Manchester United/Burnley last year (278K) and up 108% from Manchester City/Hull City in 2013 (276K).
Leicester City/Tottenham drew 450,000 later in the morning, up 9% from Stoke/Manchester City last year (413K) and up 8% from Cardiff City/Everton in 2013 (417K). Keep in mind that match aired opposite Crystal Palace/Aston Villa on USA Network, viewership for which was not available.
Rounding out the week three slate, Monday’s Arsenal/Liverpool match drew 469,000 viewers. There were no comparable matches last year or in 2013.
