Sunday Night Baseball continues to bounce back from a recent slump. In other news, the Yankees have unsurprisingly been the biggest draw on Fox Sports 1 this season, and NASCAR Xfinity Series racing hit a new season-low.
Viewership Doubles For Cubs/Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball
- The Cubs/Dodgers Sunday Night Baseball game drew 2.1 million viewers on ESPN, up 101% from Angels/A’s last year (1.0M) and up 9% from Red Sox/Dodgers in 2013 (1.9M). The Cubs’ no-hit win ranks as the third straight Sunday night telecast to have a double-digit increase in viewership, after seven of the previous eight declined.
Yankees Keep Drawing For Fox Sports 1
- Saturday’s Yankees/Braves Major League Baseball game drew 638,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1, ranking seventh out of the network’s 33 telecasts this year. The Yankees have played in four of the eight most-watched games on FS1 this season. The preceding Red Sox/Mets game drew 331,000, up 38% from Giants/Nationals last year (290K). Shifting to Sunday, another Red Sox/Mets matchup scored 432,000 viewers on TBS.
New Season-Low For NASCAR Xfinity Series
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Elkhart Lake (WI) drew 992,000 viewers on NBCSN Saturday afternoon, the least-watched race of the season on any network (excluding rainouts). The previous low was 1.02 million for the Mid-Ohio race two weeks earlier. Four of the five least-watched Xfinity Series races this season have been on NBCSN.
