After a dip in the overnights, TCU’s close call against Kansas State scored an increase in the final tally.
Saturday’s TCU/Kansas State college football game drew a 1.8 final rating and 2.8 million viewers on FOX, up 29% in ratings and 22% in viewership from Arizona State/USC last year (1.4, 2.3M) and up 50% and 38%, respectively, from TCU/Oklahoma in 2013 (1.2, 2.0M).
The Horned Frogs’ win is tied as the highest rated college football telecast on FOX this season (seven telecasts), matching Utah/Oregon two weeks earlier, and ranks as the second-most watched. It also ranks as the third of four primetime games on FOX to have an increase in ratings and viewership.
Though a solid performance for FOX, Saturday’s game was still no match for the competition. It trailed Miami/Florida State on ABC (2.3, 3.5M) and Arkansas/Alabama on ESPN (2.9, 4.8M) head-to-head.
