The latest edition of Monday Night Football had modest declines in ratings and viewership.
The Week 7 Ravens/Cardinals Monday Night Football game had a 7.8 final rating and 12.2 million viewers on ESPN, down 4% in ratings and 8% in viewership from Steelers/Texans last year (8.1, 13.3M) and down 7% and 8%, respectively, from Vikings/Giants in 2013 (8.4, 13.2M).
The Cardinals’ win earned the second-lowest rating and viewership of the season for MNF, edging Steelers/Chargers two weeks earlier by a tick in ratings (7.8 to 7.7) and a fraction of a percent in viewership (12.20M to 12.18M).
So far this season, three of the four MNF games to involve an AFC team have had a decline in ratings and viewership — the only MNF telecasts thus far to have a decline in both measures. The four all-NFC matchups have had an increase in at least one measure.
Among adults 18-49, MNF had a season-low 4.4 rating — down 8% from last year (4.8) and down 10% from 2013 (4.9).
