FOX had a modest drop in viewership for last week’s NFL singleheader.
The Week 5 NFL singleheader window, featuring Seahawks/Bengals in 39% of markets, drew 18.0 million viewers on FOX last Sunday afternoon — down 7% from coverage featuring Cardinals/Broncos last year (19.3M), down 8% from coverage featuring Saints/Bears in 2013 (19.6M), and the least-watched singleheader in Week 5 of the season since 2011 (16.0M).
The telecast marked the third time in five weeks that viewership has declined for the singleheader window. By comparison, only 9 of the season’s 28 other telecasts have declined.
As is usually the case, the singleheader has performed better on FOX this season than CBS. The three FOX telecasts have each topped 18.0 million viewers, with neither of the CBS windows have reached 17.0 million.
