The final NFL singleheader of the season scored a double-digit bump in the metered markets
The Week 16 NFL singleheader window drew an 11.0 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 10% from coverage featuring Falcons/Saints last year (10.0) but down 17% from coverage featuring Saints/Panthers or Giants/Lions in 2013 (13.3). Both of those telecasts aired on FOX.
The telecast was the fifth straight singleheader to have a year-over-year increase and the sixth of the past seven. For the season, ten of the 16 singleheader windows posted an increase — well ahead of the national window (6 of 16) and just behind NBC’s Sunday Night Football (11 of 16, not including a pair of Thursday specials).
Despite the increase, Sunday’s telecast tied the fourth-lowest overnight for the singleheader this season. Of the eight lowest rated singleheader windows in the metered markets, CBS aired seven.
