The Steelers and Broncos ended the NFL’s Divisional Round on a high note.
Sunday’s Steelers/Broncos NFL Divisional Round game drew a 23.6 rating and 43.0 million viewers on CBS, per Nielsen fast-nationals — up 1% in ratings and 3% in viewership from Colts/Broncos last year (23.3, 41.8M) and up 2% and 4%, respectively, from Chargers/Broncos in 2014 (23.1, 41.2M).
The Broncos’ win, which peaked at a 26.6 and 49.1 million from 7:30 PM ET to the conclusion, earned the second-largest AFC Divisional Round audience on record (dates back to 1988). Jets/Patriots in 2011 holds the top spot with 43.5 million.
It also scored the second-highest rating for an AFC Divisional game since Colts/Chiefs on NBC in 1996 (25.4), behind the aforementioned Jets/Patriots matchup (24.2).
Regardless of conference, the game ranks as the fourth-most watched Divisional Round game since 1997 and is tied as the fifth-highest rated.
