ESPN is reportedly making changes to its morning SportsCenter lineup. In other news, Fox Sports Live is set to abandon its current format and the NBA has banned camera operators from sitting at midcourt during games.
ESPN to Revamp Morning SC Lineup
- ESPN plans to make changes to its morning SportsCenter line-up, Sports Illustrated reported Sunday, including a new 7-10 AM ET block that may or may not be the new SportsCenter AM show announced last May. That block will be hosted by Kevin Negandhi, Jaymee Sire and Jay Harris, though it was not immediately clear whether they would anchor together or as part of a rotation. Other changes include Hannah Storm anchoring a solo hour from 10-11 AM and a Noon-2 PM block co-anchored by Cari Champion in Los Angeles and David Lloyd in Bristol. (SI.com)
Fox Sports Live Changing Formats
- According to a separate Sports Illustrated report, Fox Sports Live will soon abandon its current format of news and highlights. There is no set date for the change. The show was envisioned as a rival to SportsCenter when it debuted as Fox Sports 1’s first program in August 2013. (SI.com)
NBA Bans Midcourt Cameras
- The NBA has banned camera operators from sitting on the midcourt sideline during games, ESPN reported Saturday, with the change apparently going into effect on ABC’s Spurs/Cavaliers broadcast that night. The move came within days of a referee becoming injured after tripping over a camera operator while running down the sidelines. (ESPN.com)
