After a couple of solid outings, UFC on FOX slipped back in the metered markets.
UFC on FOX 18 drew a 1.7 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, down 15% from last year’s January edition (2.0) and down 19% from January 2014 (2.1). Compared to UFC on FOX 17 in December, overnights dropped a tick from a 1.8.
The 1.7 overnight is the lowest for the January edition of UFC on FOX (five telecasts), notable considering the January card is usually the highest rated of the year.
Head-to-head, Saturday’s telecast trailed the Spurs/Cavaliers NBA regular season game on ABC (2.5). It edged Premier Boxing Champions on FOX the previous week, which had a 1.6 overnight — though that was against tougher competition from the NBA (2.9).
