Sager Plans to “Make Medical History”
- Doctors have told Turner Sports sideline reporter Craig Sager, whose leukemia has returned for a second time, that people in his condition normally have “three-to-six months to live,” according to a transcript released of an interview he did with HBO Sports. The prognosis varies by the patient, however, and “somebody might only have a week, somebody might have five years.” Sager: “I’m not going to be that 3-6 months. I’m going to be that five years. Flores Debuts on MLB, NHL Networks
- Former SportsCenter anchor Robert Flores made his debut on MLB Network Monday night and will debut on NHL Network on Wednesday, just over a week after he officially joined MLB Advanced Media, which runs both outlets. As part of his agreement with MLBAM, Flores will also contribute to MLB.com and Sports on Earth. (MLB.com)
Williams to Guest on CBS/Turner
- Virginia Tech head men’s college basketball coach Buzz Williams will join CBS and Turner Sports’ NCAA Tournament studio coverage for the Sweet Sixteen, working alongside the Atlanta studio team of Ernie Johnson, Wally Szczerbiak and Seth Davis. Williams joins a long roster of guest analysts this year, including Vanderbilt’s Kevin Stallings, incoming UCF coach Johnny Dawkins, and Georgia State’s Ron Hunter (Turner Sports)
