The first primetime edition of Premier Boxing Champions on CBS delivered a solid Saturday night audience.
Primetime coverage of the PBC on CBS earned 2.4 million viewers on CBS Saturday night, the fourth-largest audience for the series, on any network, since it debuted in March of last year. Ratings were not immediately available.
Viewership was the highest ever for the PBC on CBS, which previously topped out at 1.4 million for its debut telecast. Keep in mind that none of the previous CBS windows aired in primetime.
Compared to NBC’s primetime PBC telecast a week earlier, Saturday’s coverage rose a whopping 94% from 1.2 million and scored double the rating in adults 18-49 (0.6 to 0.3).
Head-to-head, the PBC on CBS topped Major League Baseball on FOX (2.1M) but trailed the U.S. Olympic Trials in men’s gymnastics (3.2M) and diving (2.5M) on NBC. It also trailed the Copa America third-place match between Colombia and the United States, which had 2.8 million on Univision and Univision Deportes Network (and an additional 1.7 million on FX).
