Track & Field Trials Finish With Decline on NBC
- The final night of the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials earned a 2.9 final rating and 5.0 million viewers on NBC Sunday night, down 19% in ratings and 12% in viewership from 2012 (3.6, 5.7M) and down 15% and 4%, respectively, from 2008 (3.4, 5.2M). Coverage the previous night had 3.4 million viewers, down 47% from 2012 (6.5M). Ratings were not available. Friday’s action had a 2.6 and 4.1 million; there was no comparable window in 2012.
IndyCar Iowa Viewership Dips on NBCSN
- IndyCar Series racing from Iowa earned 534,000 viewers on NBCSN Sunday afternoon, down 1% from last year (541K) but up 20% from 2014 (444K). The race earned the largest audience of the season on cable (five telecasts) and the seventh-largest IndyCar audience ever on NBCSN (dates back to 2009).
F1 British GP Down Double-Digits
- Sunday’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix drew 322,000 on CNBC, down 19% from last year (397K). Of the eight F1 races this season that can be compared to last year, six have posted a year-over-year decline — and five have dropped by double-digits.
