Verrett to Host ABC CFB Studio Show
- ESPN has named SportsCenter anchor Stan Verrett the new host of ABC’s college football studio show, replacing the late John Saunders, who passed away earlier this month. Verrett will continue to host SportsCenter from Los Angeles, traveling to ESPN’s Bristol, CT, headquarters for college football. Saunders had been the host since 1992. (ESPN Media Zone)
Vilma Leaves NBC For ESPN
- NBC Sports college football studio analyst Jonathan Vilma has joined ESPN in the same capacity. Vilma will replace Robert Smith on ESPN2’s Saturday studio team, working alongside Chris Cotter and his former college coach Butch Davis. (ESPN Media Zone)
Stern Joins Turner Sports Full-Time
- Turner Sports announced Wednesday that it has signed studio host Casey Stern to a full-time, multi-year contract. Stern will continue to host the MLB Postseason on TBS and occasional studio shows on NBA TV, and add new responsibilities as the Atlanta-based studio host on CBS/Turner Sports NCAA Tournament coverage. Stern, originally an ESPN Dream Job contestant, will continue to host his MLB Network Radio Show but leave MLB.com. (Turner Sports)
