FS1 Posts Gains For Week 1 CFB
- Fox Sports 1 drew a 0.8 final rating and 1.4 million viewers for Kansas State/Stanford college football last Friday, up 100% in ratings and 129% in viewership from Colorado State/Colorado in 2014 (0.4, 592K). The following day, Missouri/West Virginia had a 0.4 and 786,000, up 100% and 93%, respectively, from North Dakota State/Iowa State in 2014 (0.2, 407K). In both cases, there was no comparable window last year. Also Saturday, BYU/Arizona increased a tick in ratings (from 0.3 to 0.4) and 43% in viewership (from 511K to 728K) versus Mississippi State/Southern Miss last year; there was no comparable window in 2014.
Solid Numbers For Mexico World Cup Qualifiers
- Tuesday’s Mexico/Honduras World Cup qualifier scored 3.0 million viewers on Univision and Univision Deportes Network, the largest audience for a World Cup qualifying match since 2014. Mexico’s previous match against El Salvador last Friday had 2.8 million viewers across Telemundo and NBC Universo. The matches were the most-watched sporting events of their respective nights.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Down at Darlington
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Darlington had a 1.0 final rating and 1.5 million viewers on NBC last Saturday, down 17% in ratings and 11% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.7M) and flat and up 7%, respectively, from 2014 — when the race aired on a Friday night in April on ESPN (1.0, 1.4M). For posterity, the previous week’s race from Road America had a 0.6 (-14%) and 932,000 (-6%) on NBCSN, the least-watched race of the season. Nine of the past ten Xfinity Series races have declined.
