The SEC is rounding into form in the television ratings.
Florida/Tennessee earned 5.5 million viewers on the SEC on CBS Saturday afternoon, up 19% from the same matchup last year (4.6M) but down 30% from Florida/Alabama in 2014 (7.9M). Ratings increased 17% from last year (from 2.87 to 3.35).
The Volunteers’ comeback win was the highest rated and most-watched college game of the weekend, comfortably ahead of second-place LSU/Auburn on ESPN (2.4, 4.1M). The three most-watched games of the week were SEC conference matchups, with Arkansas/Texas A&M ranking third (3.9M).
In three of four weeks this season, an SEC team has played in the week’s top game — including Tennessee twice. The lone exception was week one, when Notre Dame/Texas topped the charts.
Head-to-head, the SEC on CBS easily topped Penn State/Michigan on ABC (2.4, 3.8M) and Duke/Notre Dame on NBC (1.7, 2.6M).
